The big magpie in Euroa’s Seven Creeks Park is named Swoop the Big Barrwarrang. 'Swoop' was among the most popular of suggestions by the comminity, while Barrwarrang pays tribute to our local Taungurung people – meaning magpie in their language.

 

The 3.5m magpie sculpture was installed in the park in August 2023. Artist and Longwood resident Steve Tobin said he and fellow artist Tank had not held back when they created the biggest Magpie sculpture in the country.

It was a community lead project initiated by a joint submission by the Euroa Chamber of Business and Commerce and the Euroa Community Action Group to Strathbogie Shire Council’s ‘Pitch My Project’ initiative in their 2022/23 Budget.
 

You can see Swoop in the Euroa Park at the corner of Clifton St and Kirkland Avenue. Euroa (see map below)
